Want to start making money online but don’t know where or how to start? The first and most important thing is making your first $100 online as quickly as possible. Why? Because that will prove to you subconsciously that you can make money online. Once you’ve made your first $100 online, then it’s time to make more – But let’s start with that first $100.

Method #1: Writing

One quick way to get started in making money online is article writing. Article writing is when people pay you anywhere from $5 to $25 an article to write their web content for them.

The people paying you are website owners who don’t want to write their own content.

To get started, write a few sample articles. Make sure they’re entertaining, informative and error-free. Then, get on Digital Point forums and the Warrior Forum.

These are two internet marketing oriented forums where many webmasters who need articles hang out. Surf around and make a few posts, about 100 posts, so that you’re not “newbie" status anymore.

Once you do, then make a post in the “Warrior Special Offer" or “Warriors for Hire" sections of the Warrior Forum or the “Buy/Sell/Trade" section of Digital Point.

If you write a good ad and have good samples, your first order should come in within 48 hours.

Another great way to get started with writing is to register with Demand Studios. Demand Studios is a website that pays its writers $15 per article for writing. Make sure you have good samples before you apply.

Method #2: Building Web Assets

The second method is to build an actual internet business for yourself. This is easier than it sounds.

It’ll take you about 3 months to get to the point where you’re making any money from the websites you’re creating.

The first step is to learn the basics of how to build a website. You’ll need to learn basic HTML, how to use a site editor like Dreamweaver or XsitePro. You’ll also need to learn how to setup a domain name and web serving. This should all take about 30 to 60 days.

From there, the next step is to actually start building things.

What kind of websites should you build? To start with, you should create small websites that are designed for very specific groups of people.

For example, if you’re into weight loss, do not start a genetic site on “weight loss." Instead, start a site on weight loss for Asians (if you’re Asian.) The idea is that it’s much easier to get traction if you’re targeting a smaller segment than a larger one.

Start getting some traffic before you try and make money from the site. Once you have traffic going, it’s a lot easier to turn that into money.

Examples of how to turn that traffic into money include Google AdSense and selling informational or physical products.

For a great example of a successful website, take a look at Woodwick Candles On Sale. This site has everything about Woodwick Candles and is ranked highly for it's search term.
